Bring on Roanoke! (Before Pictures)

So God has continued to be faithful in leading us just as He promises in His word. We got through the whole Vaginismus deal so our next major area of prayer was about moving to Roanoke or staying in Rocky Mount. My job is in Rocky Mount and several of our closest friends as well- but we felt God was pulling us to move to Roanoke to be closer to our church family. God provided the perfect apartment for us. It is only 25 minutes from my work in Franklin county and the landlord found out that Bennett worked with a painting company so he is allowing Bennett to paint the place. The Landlord gave Bennett a large sum of money on a Lowes giftcard and stated that the time Bennett puts in on the painting would be deducted from our rent. How awesome is that.

Below are a few ‘before pictures’. As you can tell it isn’t the most updated but we love the charm and the ‘homey’ feeling it has. I meant to take pictures of the outside as it is surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees. Oh, and there are tons of elderly people who live there as it use to be a retirement coommunity. Haha. They are so sweet and we love them already. We have also met quite a few people our age as well so we are excited to build and foster new relationships.

Kitchen. I am super excited about WAY more room and cabinet space.

I simply love this window. Jess Walker is going to use some window markers and do some artwork mixed with bible verses and quotes.

Our bedroom. There is also another large bedroom.

Mostly joking here but the bathrooms are a tad out of date. But for some reason I love them anyway.

The gorgeous sink that matches oh-so-well with the brownish pink tub. This is the guest bathroom and there is also a full bathroom attached to our bedroom.

I didn’t take pictures of everything but the whole place is around 1400 square feet. 2 bedroom, 2 full baths, foyer, kitchen, dining area and living room area, pool, tennis courts, etc. I am excited to have a better living space and kitchen space to entertain with. I am hoping to be much more motivated to cook and bake!

So there is a little tour. Bennett has been working so hard this weekend. Already he has rolled the entire place (first and second coat), and has completed a bathroom and almost completed the 2nd bathroom. I am so proud of him and his hard work.

God is sovereign. Several times we were looking into buying houses in Rocky Mount and it would fall through and we would wonder why. Now we know why. God has lead us to city light for this current season in our lives to learn about church planting, to invest in lives, and to ultimately bring Glory to the Lord.
